Trout Rock Lodge operates under Enodah Wilderness Travel Ltd. and is the only tourist establishment located in the North Arm of Great Slave Lake. Doreen & Ragnar Wesstrom are proud to offer you some of the best fresh water angling in the world, and invite you to journey through the natural beauty of the Territories. You will come across countless unexplored islands, channels, and long weedy bays, the perfect habitat for big Northern Pike! One thing for sure the background is a beautiful, wide open wilderness that offers outdoor enthusiasts alike a quick escape from the hectic business world. Yellowknife is easily accessible from all major North American cities by jet.(An all weather highway from Edmonton, Alberta is another alternative). You will be greeted at the Yellowknife Airport upon your arrival, and then proceed downtown to pick up your fishing license and any other last minute items you may need. When you're dealing with time and travel, "the Rock" is the place; it's literally a quick and easy 12-minute wilderness floatplane ride to the lodge. Your guide will take you out on Great Slave Lake through interesting channels and islands. Besides fishing for massive northern pike up to a whopping 40 pounds; let your guide show you the mysterious hole in the rock or a Bald Eagle nest, or have a shore lunch of fresh cold water Pike. In the winter, we also offer snowmobile expeditions, Aurora viewing, ice fishing, and Caribou viewing.

Trout Rock Lodge offers great accommodations in cozy cabins with their own heat and power and lots of northern hospitality. The new lodge has a fully licensed lounge, electricity, telephone and indoor plumbing. You will dine in a brand new main lodge and a fully equipped kitchen where you will be prepared Northern cuisine that's home-cooked perfect each and every day. The eating area overlooks the lake and the northern sunsets are spectacular. There's also a hot tub to soothe those aching muscles you may have from catching monster pike all day.



With the extended daylight hours, you could be fishing minutes after you land at the lodge. Trophy-sized Northern Pike will be yours among these unexplored islands and long weedy bays. This portion of your trip is fully guided. Your guides know and understand the traditional way of life andthe habits of the fish. It really is amazing but the pike can be found in almost every nook and cranny. The North Arm of Great Slave Lake has thousands of bays and channels that hold trophy fish. The weed beds are thick and so are the fish. The guides are not only masters at finding the Big Pike spots; they are also experts at preparing a great shore lunch. Taken in cold waters, pike are one of the most delicious eating freshwater fish. There's no place better than the outdoors to talk about the big fish of the day. Our fully guided Northern Pike fishing packages starts in early June and run to September.

The owners have taken it upon themselves to maintain a trophy fish catch and release policy. Fish are handled with the utmost care, and cradles are used to ensure proper hook removal. Only small pike are kept for shore lunch.
